1. A halftone image, on a sheet of paper, which gradually fades away and then disappears.
2. A photograph with “fuzzy” edges. Can be made unintentionally with a low-quality lens, or intentionally with a filter.
A mechanical method of binding. The teeth on a plastic strip are positioned through small openings that are punched along the edge of a page.
A finish that is slightly thick and rough, but shows less glare. Usually more expensive.
A clear, protective layer over print that can be a shiny finish (gloss) or dull finish (matte).
Used for a glossy, protective finish over print. Not as durable as plastic laminate, however.
Ink that needs to be exposed to ultraviolet light in order to dry. Generally used for printing on plastic material.
